13th July 2025 – (Hong Kong) At 9.16am today, police received a report of an attempted robbery at King Chi Money Exchange, located at 38 Shing Fong Street, Kwai Chung. Three teenage boys, one armed with a hammer, entered the shop claiming they had been instructed to collect a debt.
Officers arrived at the scene, but the trio had already fled in the direction of a pedestrian bridge near Kwai Chung Plaza. Police pursued the suspects and successfully apprehended them on a footbridge at Ko Fong Street.
Following further investigation, a 13-year-old girl, suspected of involvement in the incident, was located and detained in Sheung Shui.
Preliminary findings revealed that the three boys, aged 13 to 15, had threatened the shop staff with the hammer, demanding cash but ultimately failing in their attempt. All four suspects, who are students, were arrested on suspicion of “attempted robbery” and are currently in police custody for further investigation.
